GivingTuesday Donation Match

Posted on

It’s GivingTuesday! Right now, you can help twice as many Utahns facing hunger, thanks to a generous matching gift from an anonymous donor. When you give before midnight, your GivingTuesday gift will be matched — dollar for dollar — up to $20,000 in total!

Founded in 2012, GivingTuesday began as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to give back after Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Today, it is a global giving movement around the world. This year, thanks to the generosity of some friends of Utah Food Bank, we will be celebrating with a donation match of up to $20,000, so your impact will go twice as far!

Usually, we can stretch each $1 into $8.71 worth of goods and services, but with this match, a donation of just $10 could be $174 for Utahns facing hunger! What better way to celebrate this day of giving?

Our neighbors need our help now, more than ever. 1 in 7 Utah kids will likely miss a meal today due to lack of resources, and 410,000 Utahns don’t always know where their next meal will come from. We are still experiencing heightened need due to the pandemic and continue to see many Utahns who have never utilized our services before. Last fiscal year, Utah Food Bank distributed 70.2 million pounds of food and goods across the state, the equivalent of over 58.5 million meals for Utahns in need. It is only through the generosity of our community that we can meet this increased need.

Please help us make the most of this special day. But don’t wait, this offer is only good until midnight! Make your gift now to put food into the hands of twice as many before the day is over.
