Free Summer Meals for Kids Facing Hunger!

Posted on

We are proud to once again be able to extend our Kids Cafe program through the summer months, thanks to our partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Through this program, we will serve 78,000 free mealsĀ  at 33 sites throughout the state to kids 18 years of age and under. Summer is a critical time for Utah children and their families who face hunger because the school meal programs they rely on during the school year aren’t available. For families facing hunger, struggling to provide these meals during the summer places additional strain on already-thin wallets. During the first three weeks of the program, we served approximately 26,000 meals alone! These free meals will consist of either breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the site, and will be available at a variety of both “Open Sites” and “Enrolled Programs.” For a complete list of summer meal sites, along with schedules and qualifications, please click HERE.
