Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank has operated under various names but has always remained true to our mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide. With 415,000 Utahns, and 1 in 6 Utah children unsure where their next meal is coming from, support from our community ensures that we can continue to address this critical issue for even more generations to come.
Last year we distributed 54.6 million meals throughout Utah, and with seven Utah Food Bank owned and operated facilities, our commitment to our neighbors facing hunger remains at the forefront of our mission.
Hunger impacts every community in our state, from the red rocks of the south to the mountain peaks in the north. Despite relatively low unemployment rates in Utah, many of our neighbors still can’t feed their families and keep a roof over their heads at the same time. Food insecurity, just like the health issues it can cause, has become chronic in our state, and we need your support to fight it.
Utah Food Bank in one of only a few food banks nationwide to distribute food free-of-charge to our statewide network of partner agencies. Last year, we distributed 65.5 million pounds of food, equivalent to 54.6 million meals, throughout the state of Utah. Thanks to incredible community partnerships, we can stretch each $1 donated into $7.80 worth of goods and services, so every donation truly has an impact.
