To maximize the quality of the volunteer experience and to help us prepare for your volunteers accordingly, all volunteers must schedule in advance. We do not accept walk-in volunteers. All volunteers must be at least 12 years of age, except for children signed up for family volunteer shifts. Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Thursdays starting at noon, Fridays starting at 10 am and Saturdays starting at 8 am. Evening shifts are available Mondays through Thursdays. Details and specific shift times are listed on the Volunteer Request Form.
Depending on the season, time of day and project availability, we generally schedule a maximum of 30 volunteers per shift. Please note that we may combine smaller groups or individuals for certain tasks in order to maximize efficiency. Projects may include sorting food donations, assembling food boxes, repackaging bulk food into family-sized amounts or labeling food for distribution.
Upon request, we may be able to provide a room for your group for meetings or a meal in conjunction with your volunteer shift. Unfortunately, Utah Food Bank cannot provide food for these events.

Utah Food Bank can now accommodate large corporate volunteer groups! We welcome groups of 50-100 adults to volunteer for up to 2 hours on select days. If interested, please contact the volunteer manager, Chloe Boutelle, at [email protected].
